The Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat, under the leadership of its Director General Mr. Kenneth Mwige, has once again demonstrated its commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth through a transformative initiative in Busia County.
A team from the Secretariat led by Mr. Mwige joined the Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service Mr. Felix Koskei and the Principal Secretary, State Department for Economic Planning Dr. Bonface Makokha, in a tree planting exercise and the handover of two school buses at Lupida Primary School.
The event, which brought together top government officials and development partners, sought to advance two critical national priorities: environmental conservation and educational empowerment. The two school buses, procured through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NGCDF) Board, were donated to St. Francis Lupida Secondary School and Siera Girls Secondary School. The buses are expected to significantly ease student transportation challenges, improve attendance, and create a more conducive learning environment.
Mr. Mwige emphasized that the initiative reflects Kenya Vision 2030’s social and environmental pillars, which prioritize human capital development and ecological sustainability as key drivers of national transformation. He noted that access to quality education and a clean, green environment are integral components of the country’s long-term development blueprint.
The Director General further observed that empowering learning institutions through better infrastructure directly contributes to the realization of Vision 2030’s goal of building a globally competitive and prosperous nation. He reaffirmed the Secretariat’s dedication to ensuring that all government development programs align with the overarching vision of sustainable and inclusive progress.
The event also featured the participation of the Principal Secretary, State Department for MSMEs Development Hon. Susan Mang’eni, Principal Administrative Secretary Mr. Arthur Osiya, and Busia County Commissioner Mr. Chaunga Mwachaunga. They were joined by CEOs, Chairpersons, and staff from various Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies under the State Department for Economic Planning.
Through such initiatives, the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat continues to bridge the gap between national policy and community impact. Under Mr. Mwige’s leadership, the Secretariat remains a driving force behind Kenya’s transformative agenda, championing development that uplifts communities, protects the environment, and secures a sustainable future for generations to come.
