Vice Chancellor’s Committee of Public Universities Kenya, in partnership with global technology leader HIKVISION, hosted Safe Campus and Smart Education Open Day. The event, held in University Nairobi, brought together key stakeholders from academia, technology, and government to explore cutting-edge solutions aimed at enhancing campus security, fostering smarter educational environments, and driving innovation in higher education.
The main objective of the open day was to showcase advanced technological solutions designed to bolster safety on university campuses while simultaneously creating more dynamic, efficient, and sustainable learning spaces. The partnership between the Vice-Chancellor’s Committee and HIKVISION, a pioneer in intelligent video surveillance, marking a step forward in the digital transformation of Kenyan universities.
During the event they unveiled a range of security technologies, including AI-powered surveillance cameras, facial recognition systems, and advanced access control solutions. These innovations are designed to provide real time monitoring, rapid response capabilities, and enhanced protection for students, staff, and visitors across university campuses.
