Deputy President Kithure Kindiki addressing faithful in Mwatate, Taita Taveta county yesterday

By MKT Correspondent

The country’s economy is moving in the right direction,  Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has said.

Thus, the DP noted, Kenyans were destined for better things.

“The macroeconomic situation in our Country is better than it was in 2022. Inflation is now at 2.7%, the lowest in 17 years,” said. This is the result of the heavy lifting, hardwork and progressive economic transformation policies initiated by President William Ruto that are bearing fruit, he observed.

He added, “progressively, the government is resolving the economic challenges and improving the livelihoods of our people by boosting their household incomes. We thank the Kenyan citizens for their patience”.

Prof. Kindiki noted that the country will not realise its national goals, dreams and aspirations unless citizens are united and cohesive. “Hatred and division is the ultimate killer of our Indivisibility as a Nation. We are one people, united by the emblems of our nationhood; the Flag, the Map, the National Anthem,” he reiterated.

He said that the government  is determined to complete all pending infrastructure development programmes and initiate new ones, and ensure prudent management of resources by cracking down on corruption and wastage.

The DP made the remarks when he joined the congregation at Jesus Palace of Praise Church, Mwatate, Taita Taveta County for Sunday Worship and Thanksgiving Service.

He was accompanied by among others; Members of Parliament, Lydia Haika (Woman Representative, Taita Taveta County), Peter Shake (Mwatate), John Bwire (Taveta), Danson Mwashako (Wundanyi), Carolyne Ng’elechei (Woman Representative, Elgeyo Marakwet County), John Kiarie ‘KJ’ (Dagoretti South), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East) and Geoffrey Ruku (Mbeere North) as well as several Members of County Assembly and other County leaders.
