A section of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) supporters from Kirinyaga County yesterday defected to the ruling Jubilee party.

The dozens of Kenya Kwanza Alliance coalition members joined Azimio La Umoja Kenya Moja coalition saying they had realized that its leaders in the area, led by the gubernatorial candidate Senator Charles Kibiru and his running mate Peter Ndambiri were offering the residents a better deal.

Further,  the said, it was evident that the coalition led by Deputy President Dr William Ruto was destined to lose the election to the affiliation led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua.

Ndambiri received the defectors in a ceremony that was also witnessed by dozens of the Jubilee candidates supporters.

While welcoming them to the new coalition,  Ndambiri said they had an elaborate scheme to restore the dignity of all the residents by among other things,  initiating programs that would benefit all, irrespective of the economic subsector that they relied on for their survival.

Ndambiri reiterated Senator Kibiru’s call on them to support their bid saying they were out to change,  for good their living of standards.

On behalf of the defectors, Mr Magu said the team was ready and willing to mobilize their friends and relatives to support the Azimio coalition   as it had proved that from top, they were out to initiate programs that were beneficial to all Kenyans.
