Nyeri County Women Representative Rahab Mukami Wachira has continued to intensify her campaign in a bid to retain her seat under the sponsorship of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
Ms Mukami who is optimistic of winning the August 9th General Election is banking on her development record across the county.
She has over the last five years initiated dozens of projects which have positively transformed the lives of thousands of residents from all corners of the county.
Such projects include empowering the youth, women and people living with disabilities. They involve capacity building and giving out tools and equipment to the targeted individuals and groups.
Further, she has through National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) disbursed bursary to hundreds of bright but needy students across the county.
Ms Mukami who is defending her seat on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket is facing opposition from among others, former county First Lady Margaret Karungaru Gachagua who is seeking the seat as an Independent candidate, Rose Wambui Komu of Chama Cha Kazi, Ann Wanjuhi Njoroge (Independent), Ann Caroline Muthoni (Independent), Priscila Wambaire Karagu (Independent), Mary Njeri Njoori of Jubilee, Jacinta Wanjira Wahome of The Service Party (TSP) and Sunny Njeri Githumbi who is also running as an Independent candidate.
