Kirinyaga County Senator James Murango

Kirinyaga County Senator James Murango has sought for a statement from the Senate Standing Committee on Health regarding the amputation of Baby Ridhwan Yasir Noor fingers at Kerugoya County Referral Hospital in a suspected case of medical negligence.
The senator want the committee to explain circumstances that led to the amputation of the one-year-oldΒ fingers while undergoing treatment for pneumonia at Kerugoya County Referral Hospital.
He want clarification on whether the incident that took place last month was as a result of medical negligence by officers at the facility.
Further, the legislator want the committee to state the steps, if any, by the Ministry of Health to ensure that justice is served the victim and the actions that will be taken against the medical practitioners involved.
This is besides providing details on the level of adherence to medical safety and precautionary measures in administration of medical care at the facility in question.
Furthermore, Senator Murango is seeking that the committee state reasons, if any, why management of the hospital has not provided Baby Ridhwan`s family with his medical report, despite several attempts from the parents.
