Kisii gubernatorial Aspirant Unveils His line up vows to share resources fairly

Kisii county governorship Aspirant, Chris Obure has unveiled his line up and pledged, if elected, to share the county’s resources fairly and equitably to benefit residents and foster development in the area.
The former Transport and infrastructure Chief Administrative Secretary, vying through the Jubilee Party has picked William Mbaka, running mate, Omingo Magara, Senator and Peris Onsarigo as Woman Representative.
Mr Obure wants to succeed the incumbent governor James Ongwae.
Addressing delegates from Bomachoge clan at St Vincent Pastoral centre , Obure implored the clan to forget the past political differences and support his bid, saying he has experience to utilize public funds to improve lives of residents.
He denied accusations by rivals that he was instrumental in carving and renaming Bassi Machoge ward in Bomachoge Chache constituency and diverting roads meant for Bomachoge larger- Chache and Borabu, terming it rumors meant to derail his ambition.

The former CS, making his second stab at the seat he lost to governor James Ongwae in 2013 lashed out at critics using his age as a campaign tool, stressing he is fit as a fiddle to lead the county.
He revisited the 2013 pact in which the leaders agreed that Kisii region holds the governor’s seat for ten years and it is shifted to Gucha region, saying it was wrong that some leaders who were part of the pact had shunned it.
Mr Obure noted that Aspirants for the governor’s seat were to meet and support one candidate but was shocked some leaders had teamed up with others from Kisii central to negate the pact.
He lauded former Bonchari Mp, whom he had picked as his senator for shelving his ambition in favor of Magara, saying that once elected; they will share the seats across the county to foster fair representation.
Magara who vied for the senate seat twice unsuccessfully noted he shelved his governorship ambition to avoid unnecessary competition and split votes to deny Gucha region the next governor.
He said it was time for Gucha to produce the next governor, adding that when he announced he was vying for the Senate seat, he had hard time convincing his clansmen, who finally accepted and gave him a green light to vie for the seat.
“I do not want to be a partaker of a betrayal. It is time governorship Aspirants from Gucha agree and support one candidate” Magara said
Mr Magara said that if elected, he would guarantee public funds are safe and he will not be compromised to affect his oversight, legislation and representation.
Those who are in the race of gubernatorial seat are Manson Oyongo (KNC), Prof Sam Ongeri (DAP Kenya), Rachael Otundo (Independent) and Simba Arati (ODM)
