On Monday 07th KCPE 2021 exams kicked off across the country. This year a total of 1,225,507 students will sit for their KCPE exams while a total of 831,015 students will sit for their KCSE exam in 10,413 centres across the country according to the Kenya National Examinations Council.
It’s that time of the year again when, one by one, students start holing themselves up to prepare for their exams. Some of them sacrifice their sleep and other even forget to eat but one common is that all students are feeling stressed.
Others may cope with the stress while others might be overwhelmed. Constant pressure from teachers, family members and even tutors to can be exhausting and can lead to depression often the pressure is due to the importance we place on exams as the society.
Some students even end up committing suicide after receiving their exams result since after failing the exams they feel like they are losers and everyone looks down upon them.
While the world is very diverse and each person is blessed in his or her own way we should stop pressurizing our candidates during such times.
It’s the high time that we acknowledge that failing in exams is not the same thing as being a failure, you may not have done well in the exams, but that does not mean that all paths ahead have been closed. You decide what you are.
