Once upon a time, there was a king. The king was very kind and fair to his people. The king’s only daughter was orphaned early, and her father did everything she said. The princess was a very beautiful girl with a face like the moon, eyebrows like swallows, and lips like cherries. Whoever saw the princess would fall in love with her. But the princess had one flaw. Her eyes could not see it. The princess’s beauty, elegance, and eloquence did not reveal this flaw at all. Anyone who saw her would not think that the princess had a flaw.
The princess had gotten used to this flaw and had come to terms with it. She had her own beautiful world. In this mysterious world of the princess, there was no one except herself and her small and beautiful garden. The princess was very happy in this little world. She had never felt so free anywhere as she did here. No one knew about this garden except herself and her maid. Every day she would walk in the garden and talk to her maid.
The princess had also reached her full height. She had recently turned eighteen. The beauty of the princess spread throughout the world, and was spoken of in all languages. When the kings of neighboring countries heard about this, they began to come to ask for the princess’s hand in marriage. The king would grant permission to all the princes who asked permission to see the princess, but the princes who learned about this defect in the princess would return the same day. Both the king and the princess were very distressed by this and wondered what to do. The king thought to himself: “If you have so much wealth, so many servants, and no health, what good is it? Can it be that I alone cannot find a cure for my daughter’s illness, and if all the doctors in the world gather and cannot find a cure for my daughter’s illness? Oh, is this what they call fate?! . O Lord, may my only daughter find a life partner who will make her happy and accept her as she is!!!” – he would think and pray.
The queen would repeat to herself that the real flaw was in the princes who, seeing her flaw, turned away from their intentions. After all, it was not people with blind eyes, but people with blind hearts who were flawed, and she would sit in the garden with her maid wondering if they were not flawed.
The rumor that the king’s daughter was blind quickly spread among the common people. A simple young man, a servant serving in the king’s palace, was in love with the princess. But he could not dare to express his love to her. The servant loved the princess so much that he spent the whole day looking for herbs and trying to prepare something that would cure her illness.
One day, while the young man was looking for herbs in the village streets, he heard about a magical spring. It was said that this spring was magical, and any sick person who drank from its water would find a cure for his illness. But the path to that spring was very difficult and dangerous. The young man wanted to see this bright world with his own eyes so that the princess would not suffer anymore, and he set off on that difficult journey. After three months and thirty days, the young man returned from a difficult and dangerous journey. No matter how much the young man suffers for the sake of his love, he will not give up on his goal. He reaches a magical spring and brings back a basket full of magical water. The princess was walking in the garden with her maid. When the young man could not find the princess in the palace, he went to the garden because he knew about the mysterious garden. The princess and her maid had known the young man before, and the princess had also fallen in love with the young man. That is why they were not surprised to see the young man in the mysterious garden. The young man handed the princess a bowl filled with magical spring water. When the princess drank from this water, her eyes lit up. Both the young man and the princess were very happy. The princess was delighted and threw herself into the young man’s arms. When the king heard these words, he could not contain his joy. To encourage the young man, he said to him: “I will fulfill whatever you ask.”
The young man replied: “If you give your daughter and me a white blessing, then I will not need anything else.” The king’s heart was brightened by the young man’s answer. The princess was married to a young man. The princess and the young man lived a long and happy life.
