Shoshong village is situated on the west side of Mahalapye village, approximately 40km drive.
It is a village surrounded by hills and beautiful nature.
History says the Bangwato clan or tribe assembled in the mountains in the past during inter-tribal wars.
But later passed through Mahalapye, Palapye and settled in Modern day Serowe.
Bangwato did not all leave most remained including the paramount chief of Bangwato who left the seat a year ago Sediegeng kgamane.

Getting into Shoshong there is ruins of walls and buildings that signify great history of the Baphuting and the Baphaleng, Bakaa and others.
The tombstones along the hills are still there as signaled by the former director of museums and archives Mr Chako on a past historical documentary.
In the Mahutagane plains lays a yard of Mrs Keogotsitse a mother to a young police officer in the central police and now stationed at the headquarters now and then.
He is a budding entrepreneur residing in Gaborone, Botswana, he saw it fit to make an eatery of traditional meals, for passerby pedestrians and drivers, the Tuckshop does not offer only food but also airtimes, chips, small household items.
Mr Tiro Keogotsitse is a promising entrepreneur as he has a history revolution clothes logo, named “Mashusha, Shoshong, Thogo dia opa!”
All these names are nicknames to the great Bangwato village called Shoshong.
Talking to him about what inspired his label, he reckoned that the love of his roots was all that resonated and made his choice of clothing line.
The market has received the clothing label well as many people are coming and buying especially the youth that has roots of Shoshong and Ngwato clan.
Mr Tiro also sells dried biltong now and then and got a printing company for those open to make their own distinctive products.
