Annotation. What exactly does the science of psychology study and its place in higher education? The formation of the science of psychology in Uzbekistan and its connection to other branches.

Subject of psychology. The word “psychology” consists of two Greek words, “psyche” – soul, spirit, and “logos” – doctrine, science. Processes are its subject. In other words, the subject of psychology is the processes, events, situations, and formed characteristics that form the basis of our knowledge of the external world and self.
In the literature on psychology, its subject is briefly described as psyche.
Psyche is such a state of the human psyche that allows us to consciously reflect the external world (including the inner spiritual world), that is, to know and understand. But it would be wrong to draw a superficial conclusion from these short definitions that the processes related to the psyche are forms of reflection of consciousness.
Because the events and processes related to the human psyche and its spiritual world are so complex and diverse that sometimes we cannot even understand ourselves.
That is why people’s knowledge is not only about having a set of knowledge related to the nature of objective phenomena occurring in the external world, but also about taking a proper place in life, knowing about all the secrets of rationally organizing their activities by effectively using their internal opportunities and potentials.
It means knowing the methods of influencing oneself and others and using them effectively. The complexity of psychological knowledge lies in the fact that we can directly feel the essence of things and events around us, but we indirectly know the essence of the processes related to mental life, the essence of what is happening in our brains and minds.
For example, we like one of your friends, he can always make a good, positive impression on us, but although we can directly see and evaluate this or that behavior, we lose our love for him when we do not see him for a long time.
We do not have the opportunity to directly see and perceive the feeling associated with what we are riding. Such cases indicate the unique nature and complexity of the phenomena and situations studied by psychology and distinguish them from other phenomena. By studying psychology as a science, you will gain knowledge about what kind of science it is, its characteristics and what to study.
Mastering psychological knowledge and skills for students to know the people around them in the process of communicating with them, in relationships, and in the activities of mutual cooperation; it is necessary to know and apply their thoughts, goals, experiences, interests and abilities, needs and motives, etc.
Psychological knowledge and skills help students in their future professional activities, family life, child rearing and other things. Finally, and most importantly, psychological knowledge is important for students to understand themselves, to work on themselves and to actualize their interests and creative abilities, and to become well-rounded individuals.
CONCLUSION
The subject of psychology is the processes, events, situations and feelings that form the basis of each of us knowledge of the external world and self. In literature on psychology, its subject is briefly defined as psyche.
