Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) will be upgraded to improve its service delivery.
Ministry of Defence Principal Secretary Patrick Mariru said the initiative started after Meru governor Mutuma M’ethingia lobbied for upgrading of the hospital from President William Ruto.

“The hospital serves many people and patients are even received from other counties like Isiolo,Tharaka Nithi and others, so increasing the bed capacity is a good thing,” Kiome added.
