Economist Peter Maina Munyiri
Seasoned banker and economist Peter Maina Munyiri has quit Jubilee party and joined Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) which he intend to use to become the fifth governor of Nyeri County.
Munyiri left Jubilee just a few days after joining it from Party of National Unity (PNU).
On his Facebook page, he on Wednesday posted his photo with wordings that he was now in CCK party.
The photo was accompanied by these words, “It is all set for 9/8/2022! I am steadfastly focused on service for every Nyeri citizen to ensure poverty Eradication through an all inclusive leadership guided by an elaborate vision for all sectors. Bold moves must be made at times to thwart any efforts by detractors from killing our realistic vision. This is an informed decision from the ground. People have spoken. We’ve listened. Tusonge mbele Sasa”.
This week, another gubernatorial aspirant Kamanga Gachara also left Jubilee and declared that he would be contesting the seat as an Independent candidate.
Pundits aver the duo decided to leave the ruling party following the entry of Senator Ephraim Maina Kirinyaga in the gubernatorial race under the party.
