Businessman Nick Mararo who is seeking the Nyeri Senatorial seat joined members of the Muslim community for Iftar at Mama Salim’s residence in Majengo, Nyeri Town, where he reflected on the spirit of prayer, humility, and mutual support among attendees. He said the experience left a lasting impression and underscored the importance of unity across communities. As Muslims marked Eid ul-Fitr, Mararo extended his wishes for joy, peace, and fulfillment. He emphasized that shared prosperity depends on mutual respect for diverse beliefs and collective efforts to uplift all communities, calling for continued harmony and inclusivity.

A section of Muslim faithful in Mombasa observed Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Masjid Ummu Kulthum Mosque in Kizingo, Mvita. Religious and political leaders used the solemn occasion to call for peace and tolerance across the country. Nyali community leader Said Abdalla urged the nation’s political leadership to tone down political animosity, embrace dialogue, and prioritize a citizen-centered agenda.

Muslims in Mombasa marked Eid-ul-Fitr with prayers and calls for unity, charity, and compassion. Speaking after prayers, Hassan Ali Joho urged continued support for vulnerable groups, including orphans, widows, and the sick, while promoting harmony across religions. Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir emphasized forgiveness, neighbourliness, and setting aside political differences, noting efforts to release patients unable to clear hospital bills. Aharub Khatri and Sheikh Omar Buya echoed messages of unity, respectful leadership, and caring for the needy, urging leaders to promote cohesion through responsible and respectful communication.

Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir led an initiative to clear hospital bills for 480 patients at Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, enabling their discharge ahead of Eid al-Fitr. The three-day programme, supported by the Shariff Nassir Foundation and other donors, targeted patients who had completed treatment but were detained due to unpaid bills. Beneficiaries included Jimmy Mumbo, who had remained hospitalized after surgery due to a Sh190,000 bill. Families expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting it restored hope and allowed loved ones to reunite in time for the celebrations.

President William Ruto hosted an Eid-ul-Fitr luncheon at Kisumu State Lodge. Scores of national and various counties leaders graced the colourful event.

Muslims faithful from Narok prayed at William Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok during Eid-Ul-Fitr worship. Speaking to journalists after the Idd-Ul-Fitr prayer, Sheikh Salim called on political leaders to condemn verbal abuse and be responsible for maintaining peace among the citizens, noting that a peaceful environment is essential for economic growth and national development. At the same time, area governor Patrick Ntutu cautioned politicians against inciting the residents during their campgains.
