Every country has its own traditions, customs, values, and holidays as well as in Uzbekistan. For example, the oldest national holiday “Navruz holiday” is celebrated on March 21. There are many historical and literary sources about Navruz.

In the works of our scholars such as Mahmoud Kashgari, Beruni, Omar Khayyam, Alisher Navoi and other sources, there is a lot of information about Navruz holiday and traditions related to it.

Abu Rayhan Beruni in his work entitled “Monuments left by ancient peoples” devotes a lot of space to this holiday. He thinks about its origin and history. However, the most important thing is that this age-old value has survived until our days, and the fact that the traditions, customs and ceremonies related to Novruz are still in our country is the most reliable and reliable source.

It is known that seasonal rituals appear in connection with the most ancient ideas among all peoples of the world. They form and develop in connection with the conditions, weather, lifestyle of the people and a number of other factors of the region where each nation lives. The original, age-old holidays of the people are first of all reflected in their folklore.

Knowledge and experiences related to the change of seasons, calendars and calculations are inherited from generation to generation in the form of various sayings, proverbs, sayings, riddles, proverbs and legends.

And in the songs performed during the festive ceremonies, we can see that its meaning is symbolically expressed through unique metaphors and similes. With the passage of time, some of them are disconnected from the rituals and are performed in different places, but they help to visualize the holiday system as a whole.

Ancient ceremonies such as “Cauldron is full”, ram and cockfighting shows, wrestlers’ wrestling, bakhshi competitions, sumak and tulip fairs were held. In essence, these ceremonies and celebrations are aimed at improving human life, alleviating the sufferings of nature, welcoming the coming year and New Year and asking the Creator for its blessed passage. Served to predict the situation. This belief and the system of ceremonies related to it have been living among our people to this day.
