Nakuru County Adopts Advanced Farming Techniques To Enhance Agricultural Output

Nakuru County has established 16 last-mile stores to help farmers access the government’s subsidised fertiliser and partnered with Hello Tractor to provide mechanised equipment for land preparation and harvesting.
These satellite stores supplement the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) depots in distributing fertiliser during planting seasons.
Deputy Governor David Kones emphasised the county government’s commitment to linking agriculture to manufacturing, agro-processing, value addition, and reducing post-harvest losses.
The county’s focus on climate-smart agriculture, technology, research, training, and modern farming methods is reflected in the CIDP 2023–27, which focuses on adopting climate-smart agriculture and promoting research, training, and modern farming methods.
The ASK National Chairperson, Annabelle Kirinya, believes that show attendees will gain practical solutions to current agricultural challenges and foster a resilient future.
The Nakuru ASK Show, which ended over the weekend featured over 115 exhibitors and 30 bazaars from various sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, housing, SMEs, banking, public and private institutions, hospitality, and education.
