Principal for Agriculture Dr. Paul Ronoh inspected the ongoing last-mile distribution of subsidized government fertilizers and quality miaze seeds at the Chesinende Farmers Cooperative in Kipkelion East Sub county, Kericho. In collaboration with county government, they established last-mile fertilizer distribution centers across the county, thereby alleviating the travel and queuing burdens for our farmers.

The Ministry of Energy and Petroleum has developed the draft National Energy Policy, 2025, and the Draft National Petroleum Policy, 2025, to align the sectors with the best global practices and hasten economic growth. The National Energy Policy 2025–2034 is expected to accelerate the country’s transition to a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient energy future. The policy aims to provide affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy that drives national development, economic growth, and climate resilience. Speaking during a public participation forum for the six coastal counties held at the Kenya School of Government Mombasa campus, Secretary for Renewable Energy Engineer Isaac Kiva reiterated the government’s commitment to universal access to electricity by 2030. Eng. Kiva disclosed that the current electrification coverage stands at 75 per cent from both grid and off-grid stations.
Plans are underway to establish two more renal units in Nakuru County in a bid to provide dialysis services to more patients. The two units, which will be established at the Molo and Subukia hospitals, are expected to complement the services being offered at the Nakuru Level Five and Naivasha Sub County hospitals. County Director for Medical Services, Dr. Daniel Wainaina, said that Nakuru remains a pioneer in renal healthcare, being the first county facility to establish a functional renal unit after Kenyatta National Hospital. He made the remarks during activities to mark World Kidney Day at the Nakuru County Referral and Teaching Hospital (NCRTH).
Students at Kiambu National Polytechnic (KINAP) have discovered a way to turn these avocado seeds into valuable products, proving their nutritional and economic potential. Mary Wanini, a student involved in the project, explained the process during KINAP’s Open Day exhibition. The students created Romantic Tea, a blend of crushed avocado seed, citrus, and tea leaves. In a surprising breakthrough, they also found a way to produce alcohol from avocado seeds.
