Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia lays wreath during the burial of MCA Margaret Wanjiru Ndung'u.

Tears flowed freely yesterday in Sasumwa village, Kinangop Sub-County during the burial of nominated Member of County Assembly.
Where His Excellency Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia led county staff, family and friends of the late Hon. Margaret Wanjiru Ndung’u (Njabini/Kiburu Ward) in laying her to rest.
Popularly known as Mumbi Nyina wa Rùrìrì for extensively championing the interests of women, orphans, youth, people living with disabilities and other vulnerable groups across Nyandarua.
She died last Friday.
While addressing the mourners, Kimemia observed, “outside the County Assembly, Hon. Mumbi has been a personal friend. She was one of the key pillars in my political journey, having known her way before I became Governor. She also worked closely with my spouse, Her Excellency the First Lady (Amb.) Ann Kimemia in reaching out to the needy.”
The County boss added, “This death is still a shock to me, having had a telephone conversation with her on Friday morning. She was in her usual jovial mood, looking forward to the Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference, slated for the following day.”
On her part, the First Lady eulogized the deceased as a confidant and perfectionist who would go an extra mile to ensure that programs under her office are comprehensively implemented.
Others present included the Deputy Governor Cecilia Mbuthia and other senior National and County Government officials.
