Nyeri governor inaugural address of the 3rd assembly

Nyeri county governor Mutahi Kahiga yesterday delivered the first address of the 3rd County Assembly where he highlighted the projects implemented in the past years and his focus on what his administration intend to do in the next five years.

The governor lauded the local County Assembly for carrying out its roles with distinction and Nyeri residents for their vigilance and upholding their patriotic duties since the onset of devolution.

He noted that his government has been keen on development programs and adopting policies which will benefit the great people of Nyeri and also transform their lives.

As such, he observed, the county government has been recognized severally by both national and international reputable organizations such as the World Bank which should serve as an inspiration to Nyeri citizens.

He noted that his transformational agenda that will guide legislation during this second term administration will be hinged on the good governance pillar, the social transformation pillar and the economic pillar.

The government is working towards an upward trajectory and it shall strive towards building resilience in traditional sectors of the economy while creating diversification and new ways of putting resources in the hands of mwananchi who have high hopes for the government.

Governor Kahiga therefore urged every elected leader to embark on servant leadership in the delivery of duties to the Nyeri County citizens.

The colourful ceremony that was presided over by the County Assembly Speaker Gichuhi Mwangi was also attended by Senator Wahome Wamatinga and most of the county government senior officials.
