The 2nd International Research Conference convened by Nyeri National Polytechnic kicked off yesterday where it attracted participants showcasing innovative exhibitions in their fields.
Being the institution’s first Skills competition, participants from different TVET institutions are competing in 14 skills areas where they showcased their competencies.
This highlights the importance of TVET institutions in equipping individuals with the skills needed in today’s dynamic labor market.
The conference is themed “Enhancing Sustainable Growth for Socio-Economic Development Through Research, Science, Technology And Innovation.”
The conference was officially opened by the Director TCET Dr. Meshack Opwora who encouraged the importance of equipping youths with the needed skills for driving our economy.
Nyeri based industrialist Dr Thuo Mathenge was among other leaders who addressed the delegates.
His speech was based on ” Leveraging Climate-smart agriculture for a Sustainable, Secure and Resilient Food Supply Chain”
Dr Mathenge addressed the basic issues mainly value addition on products with minimum input to sustain supply food chain.
