The leading Real Estate Dealer in the Eastern Africa region has called for enhancement of various games and activities as a way of addressing some ills facing society.

Optiven Real Estate Chief Executive Officer Dr George Wachiuri says by incorporating gaming in day to day running of firms, staff will be able to handle some vices like associated with mental health as well as those of alcoholism, illegal drugs and substance abuse.

Dr Wachiuri spoke yesterday at Mweiga stadium in Kieni constituency,  Nyeri County, after a football match between Optiven Football Club and Nyeri’s Veterans Football club where his team won with 4 goals to 2.

“We have an Optiven football team that has so far played over ten games with teams from different parts of the country.  With this team, our staff are engaged and may not have time to indulge in activities that are of no help like drugs and substance abuse,” Dr Wachiuri noted, as he urged other cooperates to follow suit.

He said apart from players exercising their bodies and remaining physically fit, games were some of the best avenues of addressing the killer mental health issue that has had adverse effect among Kenyans.

“Playing games is another way of addressing the killer mental health and that is why I am encouraging the formation of teams to address the issue,” he noted.

To set the ball rolling,  Dr Wachiuri revealed that his team was ready to meet and play with any team within the boundaries of the country.

“We have played in several parts of the country and are ready to travel, meet and play with any team, anytime,” he said as he called on those interested to get in touch with them.

He added that his firm’s gaming plan was in line with their vision of “Championing Of Social Economic Transformation”.

After the thrilling football match, Dr Wachiuri met and had a talk on investment with some Nyeri County residents at Juniper Green Gardens along Nyeri-Mweiga highway where he explained various available opportunities.
