Othaya constituency Member of Parliament Gichuki Mugambi yesterday oversaw the official use of Mwai Kibaki Level Six Hospital.
The facility with capacity of 250 will now ease the burden of locals from preserving their loved ones away from the final resting place.
After touring the facility, the MP didclosed that though the facility has 250 body capacity, it currently has equipment to preserve 66 bodies.
Also operationalized is the hospital’s kitchen, laundry and an oxygen generating plant that has a capacity to generate 2.6 million liters of oxygen per day, enough to serve the entire Mt Kenya region and beyond.
The MP who toured all rhe facilities thanked the national government under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta of facilitating the funding of the hospital, only one of its kind in the region.
