President William Ruto has commenced a countrywide tour to initiate, inspect and commission various development projects.
President Ruto said there is no turning back, adding that it is time to deliver services to the people and actualize the Kenya Kwanza development plan.
“As government, we are focused on delivering what we promised Kenyans. It is time to work for the people who gave us this job. We are going to ensure the projects that are ongoing are completed and at the same time, we will rigorously initiate new projects and ensure we take them to the logical conclusion,” said President Ruto.
The president made the remarks at Ndunyu-Njeru in Nyandarua County when he commissioned construction of Ndunyu-Njeru-Geta-Wanjohi road.
He was accompanied by his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua and Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi among other leaders. Nyandarua County leaders led by Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha welcomed the Head of State and his dignitaries.

He took a swipe on the opposition over their hardline position on bi-partisan talks through the parliamentary initiative, saying it is time to demonstrate leadership and work for Kenyans and there is no room for rhetoric.
“The agenda ahead of us is not to demonstrate along roads and destroy property, businesses and livelihoods. What lies ahead is the big plan on how we shall construct roads, get water to our people, connect them to electricity and get our farmers to work so that we can feed the nation,” said Ruto.
Mudavadi pointed out that the Kenya Kwanza plan is to ensure that not only services reach the people but also leaders’ works for them.
“What gave us, the Kenya Kwanza a win was the policies we sold to the people. We have an agenda and for the people of Nyandarua supporting agriculture and food production is a key priority. The electorate didn’t vote us in to march along the roads demonstrating Monday to Friday, the people want services and that is what we are offering.” said Mudavadi.
Adding: President Ruto will not abandon the Kenya Kwanza plan and its manifesto to go and implement Azimio’s ideas. The Azimio team should wait for their time, this is President Ruto’s time. We will not abandon the Bottom-Up Transformational Agenda, to focus on people who want to take us back to the dark days.”
Gachagua, on his part, said there is no room for handshake in the negotiations by parliament since they have work to do as government.
He insisted that the talks have to take a legal and constitutional direction.
