Former Nyeri County Women Representative Ms Priscilla Nyokabi Kanyua was yesterday elected as the chairperson of a political lobby group, the Centre for Multiparty Democracy (CMD)
Nyokabi alongside other new officials were elected during a meeting convened to replace the outgoing officials.
The new Steering Committee Members now has Albert Kochei as the Vice Chairperson.
The group takes over from the team of which was led by Senator Abshiro Halake who was the Chairperson and Senator Edwin Sifuna the Vice-chairman. CMD-Kenya is the meeting point of Political Parties to deepen our multi-parties democratic culture.
In her acceptance speech, Nyokabi who recently contested the Nyeri Senatorial seat said her team will pursue devolution and the role of the Opposition parties while focusing on inclusion of women especially young women, youth, pwds and minorities.
