Hours after a Mombasa Court released the controversial pastor Ezekiel Odero on bond, Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga paid him a visit.
Upon his arrival at New Life Prayer Center Church in Marereni, Kilifi, Raila was received by the pastor and the two held talks at the Vestry.
A video posted in social media a few minutes later showed Raila joining the worshipers. He briefly attended the service.
The pastor is seen having animated chat with him as he led him to where his vehicle had been parked.
After bidding him goodbye, the pastor is seen returning back to church and continued to deliver his sermon.
The media report indicated the purpose of this visit was meant to give Raila an opportunity to show solidarity with him.
Reacting to this, I listened to the views of a cross section of Kenyans who averred.
Raila believes that Ezekiel is innocent and as a man of God he has been shepherding his flock in the way of Lord.
The government is behind his woes.
President William Ruto is preaching water and drinking wine. He is revengeful.
He want to destroy this man of God because of the prophesy he made in the countdown to 2022 polls.

As it turned out, Ezekial prophesy did not come to pass.
Raila lost the election to Ruto and this is the fifth presidential election he would lose.
Just like in previous polls, Raila is yet to accept that Ruto defeated him and move on.
Could turn out Ezekiel was behind his campaign of defiance?
This is because the picture cast by Raila suggested that he considered him to be his spiritual father.
For Ezekial, he was in catch-22 situation. The worst thing is to recant and disown his ‘prophesy’.
If he admits, he knew a good number of his followers would lose the trust in him and bolt out.
This would be a painful experience as it would mean losing million of shillings he was raking in from them.
So, the only option is to make them continue believing he had given them the correct message.
So, Raila’s insistence that Ruto ‘stole his victory’ would work to his advantage.
Was Raila doing this for free? Many doubt. It is believed he has been getting a share of the cake.
If true, this was unfortunate bearing in mind this was money taken from the poor and those ailing and critically ill.
A report posted in social media had given a chilling account.
A critically-ill patient, who had been admitted in a nearby hospital, was taken to Ezekial church while in a hearse.
The patient had been brought here for prayers.
It remained unclear whether he was taken back to the hospital or to a private morgue.
According to the preliminary investigations reports, the bodies of those who died while being prayed for by Ezekiel were first taken to this Morgue.
Thereafter, the bodies were ferried to Shakahola’s 800 acres of land owned by Paul Mackenzie (another doomsday pastor) and buried there.
According to eyewitnesses, Ezekiel prayers were not for free. You were compelled to buy two items: anointed white handkerchief and a small bottle containing anointing oil.
Media reports indicated Ezekiel called the latter ‘Holy Urine Of God’.
For Raila, he is not an ordinary person. He is a leader who is held at high esteem by his supporters.
But now two questions come to mind if it is proved he is a shareholder of Ezekial Company of raiding the poor’s pockets and enriching himself with thier sweat.
Does he qualify to run for president? Can he be entrusted with the responsibilities of highest office in the land?
As of now, Ezekial is facing serious charges including terrorism, money laundering and selling of the body organs.
If proved and convicted, he is liable to serve the rest of his life in prison.
Raila should let the law to take its full course.
He had already shot himself in the foot but this will probably help him to regain a bit of public trust.
