A continuous fellowship with the Holy Spirit is another requirement that must be met, if you desire divine direction. Continuous means always. Let us not be prompted to lead ourselves, but rather adopt the attitude of full surrender. It is wriiten; “But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things ( 1 John 2:20).”
One of the most powerful scriptures and ought to be truly believed by all true Christian’s is this: “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come (John 16:13).” What a wonderful gift we have in the Holy Spirit!
The Holy Spirit is to show you the things to come. But before He can do that, you first have to know Him and enjoy communion with Him. You also have to be conscious of His indwelling presence in you. The Holy Spirit is a Person, so you can cultivate fellowship with. You can talk to Him, ask Him questions and seek His help.
The provision of God to direct us is wonderful and ever sufficient. What else can we ask for from God?! but rather embrace His direction, full of trust and confidence, that our maker knows us even better than we know ourselves, and further, He has the best plan for your life.
