Former DP with Dr Peter Mbae yesterday

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has continued to host leaders and opinion shapers from different parts of the country.
For last few weeks, the former Second-in-Command has hosted delegations from Nairobi, Machakos, Kisii, Kajiado, Kiambu, Murang’a, Laikipia, Nyeri and Nakuru counties.
The leaders have been flocking his Wamunyoro residence at the edge of Mt Kenya in Mathira constituency, Nyeri County.
Some have nicknamed Wamunyoro residence as ‘Peoples State House’ and further referring to him as ‘Peoples Deputy President’.
Yesterday, among those who paid a courtesy call to him were former Government Delivery Unit head, Dr Peter Mbae who quit his job a few days ago after differing with Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.
Riggy-G also met with former National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) Chief Executive Officer CPA Geoffrey Mwangi who hails from Njoro area and who has declared his interest for the Nakuru County gubernatorial seat.
Among other leaders who visited the former DP yesterday were; Mr Kigathe Kionywe from Kikuyu constituency, Martin Muturi from Kandara, Ms Wanjiku Muhoro from Nyandarua, Mugambi Ndirangu from Nairobi, Koinange Wahome from Laikipia, Raymond Kuria from Kiambaa and former Nyeri MCAs John Theuri alias Jambo Kenya (Iria-ini, Othaya) and Wanjira Wamambati ( Magutu).
He has also hosted professionals led by a delegation of Nyanza region Youth Professionals Movement led by their chairman Peter Odhiambo.
A few days ago, he met with several former senior government officials who included former Principal Secretary for Water Joseph Irungu.
Sources said dozens of leaders and opinion shapers from other parts of the country are lined up to visit the former DP.
Last Sunday, Gachagua said he would be making public the next political move in a few days time after listening to the ground through the consultative meetings he has been holding.
