Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua addressing press yesterday

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua yesterday claimed that President William Ruto had issued instructions for his elimination.
He said his former ally had hatched plans to kill him using biological weapons that he was to inhale and get destroyed within 3 Months.
In a televised presser from his Karen home, where he was accompanied by several of his political allies, the Democracy of the Citizens Party (DCP) Party Leader alleged that he had impeccable intelligence to the effect that a lethal police unit had been assigned to waylay him on his way from Gatanga in Murang’a on Sunday.
The former second in command who toured Murang’a county on Saturday and Sunday together with a host of a leaders allied to him had to use panya routes after police blocked all roads in and out of Gatanga.
After attending a church service, fundraiser and opening a party he had several stopovers in various shopping centres until he received intel that he had been waylaid.
According to him a 101 member strong specially trained squad had instructions and that has been abducted Kenyans had been assigned to poison him with a chemical that would turn him into a cabbage in three months after inhaling it.
“President Ruto has directed that my private security be disarmed and be targeted for withdrawal of their licenses so that they can leave me vulnerable to allow room for goons to attack and probably eliminate me,” the former DP stated.
He narrated a chronology of events that culminated in violence that targeted him since November yet nobody has ever been arrested or even questioned over the threats on his life.
He further reiterated that the powers that be were not intent on punishing the hired goons who have attempted to harm him at every available opportunity including in church compounds and at solemn funeral ceremonies. The former second in command challenged the government to take action on a Rift Valley MP who recently insinuated that rigging was an option if William Ruto did not get enough votes in the 2027 elections.
Gachagua also clarified that his statement on possible chaos in 2027 was not alarmist but a caution to the polls body to ensure that the exercise was free and fair without any trace of rigging at all.
In the past the former Deputy President has severally alleged that there were attempts at assassinating him including through food poisoning when he was in office not to mention the half a dozen or so times he has had to ward off goons after his official security was withdrawn.
In recent days he has been issuing hard-hitting statements against President Ruto accusing him among other ills, massive land grabbing, state capture, abductions and tribalism.
During the brief press briefing, the former DP was accompanied by among others; Members of Parliament, Joe Nyutu, John Kinyua, Jayne Kihara, Karungo Thang’wa among others. Also present were his new party’s Women Leader Cate Waruguru and DCP Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala.
