Abstract
This article examines the concept of social control, its essence, and its role in social life. The main functions of social control, as well as its formal and informal, positive and negative types, are analyzed. The article also highlights the importance of the family, educational institutions, the state, and public organizations in ensuring compliance with social norms.

Introduction
The stable functioning and continuous development of society are closely linked to the maintenance of social order and discipline. Every society regulates human behavior through specific social norms, values, and rules. In this process, social control serves as an important mechanism that helps preserve social balance and ensures that individuals act in accordance with societal expectations.
Social control strengthens social order by ensuring compliance with accepted moral, legal, and cultural norms. It coordinates the relationship between individuals and society and plays a significant role in preventing deviant behavior. Various social problems, including crime, deviant behavior, and social instability, require effective social control mechanisms for their prevention and resolution.
