“The heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father (GALATIANS 4:1-2).” A baby boy may be born to a king, but that little boy, even though he is a prince destined for a throne, is still going to be told what to do, where to go, and how to live—just as if he were a maid or a butler.
Even though we are destined to rule and reign with Jesus Christ as joint heirs, many of us have not yet obtained the maturity to receive our inheritance. We still rely heavily on the pastor or a friend in the Lord to guide us and correct us instead of forming an intimate relationship with the Father ourselves. We continue to require other believers to tell us what to do, where to go, and how to live, and we live as little children, weak and ineffectual.
The only thing that will enable us to grow up in Christ is to TAP INTO THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN. The problem is, many believers are only desiring outer strength—a strength that can be measured in terms of things and possessions and titles and associations and power and prestige—and even biceps! I’m not interested in teaching you a get quick riff scheme! No, am interested in you attaining the infallible might; power of our living God, which is accessible to you all the time: SELAH!
