An enigma that exists in this world and also in the life of a believer is the EXTENT OF THE LOVE OF GOD, which in essence seems not to be fully understood or can never be fully understood. Some anointed servants of God tried to explain this phenomenum, right from the Old Testament and into the New Testament, but it is still a great awesome mystery!
What then? If we cannot fully grasp this love, don’t we pursue? Contrary, this should be great inspiration and strength to pursue it and live in it. The Psalmist David in his many descriptions of God states that God’s love is unfathomable ( i. e it cannot be understood); he continues to state it is everlasting. Almost in every chapter of Psalm, he does not lack to bring the nature of God which is PERFECT LOVE (1 John 4:18). There are many other portrayals of God’s immense love for His creation man, and their love story is what entails the Scripture.
This love is perfected and portrayed in the New Testament. We see God Himself in His incarnate form (Christ Jesus) laying His life for our sake (John 3:16, & John 15:13). No wonder why Apostle Paul concludes the 8th Chapter of the book of Roman’s that he is convinced that NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD. Consider Roman’s 8: 38 “I am CONVINCED that nothing can separate us from His Love, Death can’t, and life can’t. Angel’s won’t, and all the powers of hell cannot. Neither our fears or worries about tomorrow….”
