In the bustling corridors of university life, where friendships are forged and rumors abound, a seemingly harmless encounter sparked a whirlwind of speculation among a group of students. It all began on a crisp morning at 11 am when I was coming from class; I make my routine stop at a nearby kiosk after class.
As I reach for a pack of tropical mints to freshen up my breath, little did I know that my choice of confectionery would become the subject of intense discussion among my peers. Behind me, a group of male students erupted into laughter upon seeing my purchase, setting off a chain of curious remarks and theories.
Amidst the laughter and banter, Teresa, Brian, Millicent, and Obed each offered their own interpretation of the purpose behind my choice of sweets. Teresa whispered,” they are infamous for their alleged arousing sexual desires”, while Brian boldly claimed” they are used for enhancing intimate experiences, they are commonly used in the bedroom by this young people. Gone are the days when we used to take it as a sweet but this generation is wicked.
We are moving at a high speed. New things are being introduced to us and the youths are the first people to embrace them”. Millicent chimed in, ” I normal buy these sweets whenever am travelling for a long distance, they are a travel companion for long journeys”, while Obed confidently asserted ” they are effective in combating bad breath and even as a prelude to romance .These days they play a big role in bedroom matters. The youths have spoilt the game, this tropical sweets acts as a coolant more when the weather is hot, sometimes I chew them when I feel like drinking water but there is no any. Now I fear even going to the shop to buy them because the shopkeeper and anybody around will just make their conclusion that am going to make love. The youths are so much influential, they started this perception about tropical mints and it’s all known”.
