At school the education taught is usually general and theoretical knowledge and the students are expected to apply it to make lives more comfortable no wonder a single teacher can have several innovators more famous than him in his class and still find the situation not strange.
In the same vein if all students fail to reach the standards of the teacher, it is an indicator that either the teacher or the student is having some serious weakness that needs to be addressed. Already armed with talent the teacher through education gives you ideas on how to better what you have so as a student you need to apply the newly acquired knowledge to better the idea you had.
It is not only the ability to use the existing systems that show how well you are informed but also ability to create completely new ones or improve the existing ones.
One should not be shy of critiquing whatever is existing but should do it objectively as this will show that he has discovered something new.
Those training to become security officers undergo strenuous exercises even pass through hardships. This is deliberately put in their curriculum to equip the students with necessary skills of dealing with extreme situations but the framers of curriculum does not intend that they will face similar hardships throughout their careers.

In a country like Kenya majority of music composers are not formal graduates from music school but their products shows that they are talented. Anyone who could claim to be a formal specialist in music cannot trusted by music fans unless he show them a composition proving how better he is than the existing ones.
In careers like marketing how good one is at academics does not appeal to most of the employers compared to how best he can meet the company targets on the actual market. Ability to increase market share determines both remuneration and trust of your input during the decision making.
Still in Kenya majority of the consumers of products in the market do not bother to know the name of the manufacturer of the products but how good the product can serve them especially if the market price is friendly, health and safety standards have been met as per regulation bureaus.
No matter how learned one is if he is unable to demonstrate his work to those he is supposed to serve then they cannot respect his education since most of them will doubt it. Their focus is on how you can apply the academic knowledge in real life to bring a meaningful impact.
