The moment I read the hurtlful line,
I felt my blood begin to boil.
I was ready to answer with turmoil.
With my fingers racing across the keys.
Then, I read the message I’d typed in rage,
They felt too angry and far too strong.
So, I paused a moment, took a deep breath,
Letting my anger fade into a calm.
When I sat and thought in silence,
Reality stuck me in a flash:
‘If I send it, wouldn’t it break a bond,
And push a relationship aside’.
So, Why can’t I simply let it go,
Forgive, forget, and rise above?
And so it rests, unsent and unseen,
An angry message sealed in my phone.
