United Family Community and Clergy Call for Moral Renewal, Unity, and Youth Participation in Nation Building

A strong coalition of faith leaders, professionals, and community advocates under the banner of the United Family Community has issued a powerful national appeal urging Kenyans to embrace unity, moral renewal, and active civic participation as the foundation for rebuilding the nation’s moral and democratic fabric.
During the release of a joint statement titled “Restoring the Soul of Our Nation: A Call to Conscience, Compassion, and Collective Action” at Nairobi’s Central Park Hotel, the multi-faith organization called on citizens to rise above politics, tribe, and personal interests to foster peace, integrity, and shared responsibility.
Operating under the theme “United in Peace, Bound by Love, Committed to Transformation,” the United Family Community emphasized that Kenya stands at a defining moment in its history, characterized by moral decay, corruption, and social disintegration. Despite these challenges, the organization expressed optimism that the nation can be redeemed through compassion, conscience, and collective effort.
The organization lamented the growing fragmentation of families, erosion of moral values, and diminishing trust in leadership, noting that corruption, greed, and abuse of power continue to corrode the nation’s conscience. It also raised concern over the normalization of violence, rising mistrust, and widespread anger within homes and communities.
Of particular concern were the increasing cases of rape, defilement, gender-based violence, and spousal killings, including incidents involving law enforcement officers. The group described these as signs of deep moral and emotional distress that must be urgently addressed through compassion, forgiveness, and dialogue.
The United Family Community clarified that its message was not meant to apportion blame but to inspire a collective sense of moral responsibility among Kenyans. The organization urged citizens to embrace forgiveness, compassion, and mutual understanding as key steps toward national healing and reconciliation.
In a related appeal, a caucus of clergy and professionals working alongside the United Family Community encouraged young Kenyans to take full advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise and become active participants in shaping the nation’s political destiny.
Led by Bishop Josiah Alinyo, chairman of the organization, the clergy underscored that the youth, who constitute the majority of Kenya’s population, possess immense potential to determine the country’s future through responsible civic engagement. They also raised concerns about challenges facing young people and families, such as drug abuse, delinquency, and gender-based violence, calling for mentorship, dialogue, and value-based education as tools for transformation.
The United Family Community outlined a national renewal plan anchored on dialogue, dignity, empowerment, accountability, and spirituality. Key proposals include establishing county forums for peaceful conflict resolution, social programs to protect women and children, and mentorship initiatives aimed at empowering youth and women through skills training and financial inclusion.
The organization also appealed for stronger anti-corruption institutions, transparent governance, and a spiritual reawakening led by faith-based and community leaders who can inspire integrity, forgiveness, and service. The movement envisions a nationwide moral transformation stretching from the highest levels of government to the grassroots, driven by a shared vision for a just and compassionate society.
In conclusion, the United Family Community reaffirmed its commitment to advancing peace, interfaith dialogue, and mentorship programs across the country. It urged Kenyans to choose unity over division, empathy over indifference, and moral courage over complacency, emphasizing the need to rebuild the nation’s soul through collective responsibility and shared purpose.

This is an organisation that is needed as early as yesterday. We can’t burry our head s under the sand and assume that our community is at peace. There is an outcry of every area of our community men,women,youth young children. We need a collective responsibility to heal our counties and country at large.
This is a great initiative. It’s important that interfaith dialogue and peace become the core values in our community.
