Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has lauded the people of Mt Kenya region for maintaining peace and cohesion after the August 2022 general elections.
Speaking in Rigati area near Karatina in Nyeri County during the sendoff ceremony of the late Philip Githua, 58, who was until his demise the Amani National Congress (ANC) party Nyeri County chairperson, Mudavadi said the unity of purpose remains key in moving the country forward.
He has assured nation that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains firm, steadfast and committed to serve all Kenyans at all times.
“We salute you the people of Mt Kenya. In deed you stood firm and cleared all the doubts and stereotypes through the vote you casted in the August 2022 general elections. You showed other communities that you can actually vote for one of them. You made a decision that completely altered the political trends and landscape in Kenya,” said Mudavadi.
Mudavadi pointed out that the Kenya Kwanza administration will unify the country and bring stability to pave way for economic recovery.
He further alluded to the fact that even after his victory; President Ruto has remained a unifying factor and symbol of nationhood since he has shown magnanimity.
‘The President was courteous in his State address on Sunday. President Ruto pointed out that Kenya is ours and we need to pull together for us to move foward as one people. This was acknowledged by the Diplomats during the launch of the Dryland Climate Action for Community

Mudavadi in his remarks also noted that our hospital facilities need to be well equipped with availability of drugs as well as payment of county workers.
This, he mentioned as he eulogized the late Githua as a true patriot and a leader who contributed immensely in the growth of the ANC party in Mt Kenya region.
‘We need to work on improving the conditions of our county Hospitals.Terminal ailment can impoverish the entire family. It is for this case that we speak about NHIF so that universal health coverage is accessible for all. This are among the many challenges we must resolve and it is for this reasons that we must have honourable politics,’ said Mudavadi.
‘We applaud our president for setting the pace and it is time to let our parliamentary legislatures take over. Also the programme the president is launching about social protection we need to do more so that we all move foward and the elderly get access to this funds,’ said Mudavadi.
‘We are here to really condole with the family of my friend Philip Githua. As we bid farewell to our good friend I want to assure the family of our support at this trying moment,” said Mudavadi as he called on all families to be keen on ensuring they up take the government’s programme on universal health care seriously.
Nyeri County governor Mutahi Kahiga who also attended the burial eulogized the late Githua as a generous, warm hearted loving and kind man who loved this country.
Others present were ICT CAS Simon Gikuru, businessman and The New Democrats (TND) party Dr Thuo Mathenge, Nairobi businessman Kinyanjui Githinji alias Cocorico, area MCA HmWatson Weru, Karima ward MCA who was elected on ANC ticket Eunice Wagaki, ANC Party National Chairman Kelvin Lunani, ANC Party fraternity among others, all of whom described the deceased as a dedicated leader who tirelessly worked for the benefit of the community.
