Citizens fling to registration grounds after the declaration of the deadline of registration. Most of them turn up to register as voters towards the deadline, leading to congestion at the exercising grounds.
Some citizens claim that, they were caught off and that made it arduous to turn up earlier. Others claim that they were hit by outrageous events earlier.
Independent electoral and boundaries commission (I. E. B. C) will not extend voter registration process due to insufficient funds to long list voters. Vice chairperson Juliana Cherera said that there is no budget to run the exercise, despite the court order to extend registration process to date 9.
Eligible citizens are urged to turn up before closure of the registration exercise to register as voters.
