“What People Say”—This Is The Sentence That Has Killed Many Dreams

Sevinch Nodirova

Our dreams give us a purpose to live and push us forward when the going gets tough; they are what keep us alive at certain points. They make us stronger along the way if we follow them to the end. Dreams demand sacrifices, take us to places we never thought we’d reach, and bring us happiness, satisfaction, and the chance to experiment. They help us build resilience and can even transform who we are.

If we quit pursuing our dreams because they don’t seem ideal to those around us, or we have doubts, or others call them ridiculous, it’s likely we’ll be left with nothing but darkness, uncertainty, and regret. You may lose your vision for the future, or have no clear direction, and the regret you feel in later years can be excruciatingly painful.

One of the main reasons we stop chasing our dreams is because we fear what others will think or say. But remember, everyone on this planet has a different worldview, outlook, and opinion on various topics. They criticize you in the beginning but when you make it they put you as an example for their children. So never give up on your dreams.
