Worth Noting:
- I found opportunities called youth across Africa, awards, the mighty honorary doctorate but no one own up to my help, aid, people become big, gurus my mates, and utter unwelcome words, am not battling it I feel time has come for me to make sign and acknowledge, pay!
- Am a poor writer.
- I am nothing, all I wanted was acknowledging not praises, but most show me, you are a fool vibes, I overpowered you, I need money too, am on same level, who are you. However am grateful for the few who acknowledge my grace and help. I don’t want to own people, just acknowledging. Second am grateful because I know am because you are!
I came home prior to Covid 19 from diaspora.
I was a graduate, left a matrimonial home, with nothing and wanted be free of thought mind and substance.
I have been in Lyon, Toulouse, Paris, france,Porto, Lisbon,Angola, Madagascar,Johannesburg, Mbabane, Piet ritief,Swaziland, Rsa, Harare, Bulawayo, Windhoek, Shanghai, Beijing, China, connecting through Tanzania..
Prior to this I only knew Mahalapye my village late Serowe and Shoshong.
I saw Gaborone, capital city through university in 206-2007, and am proud to say am from the group that went to cattlepost or lands where we plough on holidays.
God saw me through now I got Dr. Title and more than that am well experienced in arts.
2006 I began my theatre class with professor Ogoye.
Later I had late Professor F.K. Omoregie.
Am a failure there are things I did not master, but Covid I joined world of books and I gave it my all,regardless of lack of resources,I partnered with willing hearts and it happened.
I made awards after I saw books got no recognition in Africa.
I knocked doors no one helped.i did all like a mad girl,with kingdom helpers and zeal plus passion.I incorporated with social issues, Lesotho backed me a lot, Kenya supported me more and Nigeria,my country came last when I was long doing it, well they did not know me,I was a writer in the corner..Unknown writer with good initiatives.
Oh! When I did my staff I highlighted my name Paula rather than native name ‘Mphi!’ I believed my people never back their own..and it worked, it was not a pseudo but a name my fabulous favorite Aunt lapo gave me on character that loved childish tantrums like me around my 13th birthday etc, I embraced it amongst my long list identities. With it I found stature, prestige and love.
I did try things before and gained no support.Liberia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, India gave me awards, my First Lady gave me a courtesy call, commended me for fabulous work and edged me to do more, friends more high office personnes followed suit.
Today I the girl who took Morula kennels beat it after crushing it , i the girl who put her leg on warm sand made mud house, am Dr. Paula.O.Otukile, but ceased to help nor aid free.
Why?
1). I called and made announcements freely, did publicity to young writers and poets.
2).I voluntarily made awards..!To give my people recognition, many people are doing so,with my background it’s a long short.
3).From nothing to something believers joined.
Friends it is with a painful heart that I see day in day out lack of appreciation in our kindred!
Note bene, meaning note well or
N:b; free things lack appreciation!
But when people pay for services they put recognition, acknowledgements and effort plus seriousness.
