The Spouse of the Deputy President Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has challenged women to take up leadership roles in the society.
Speaking at ACK Cathedral of Mbeere, Embu County St. Peter’s 2024 Annual Diocesan Women Prayers and Investment rally Pastor Dorcas said women have a huge responsibility in shaping the characters and dignity of their family by giving counsel and teaching their children the right ways.
She added that women are entrusted with instilling M
morality, family values, justice for all, defender of the poor and the needy, voice of the voiceless, charitable and are investors.
“At times, we have viewed women as housewives, but there is more to that she has been entrusted with. She has to take care of her family, but God has given her more responsibilities even to assist in redirecting my boys who have been hooked into alcoholism, drugs and substance abuse, “Pastor Dorcas said.
“I know when a woman speaks to her sons they can listen,” she added.
She further said that her rehabilitation program to addicts of alcoholism, drugs and substance abuse is still on.
Pastor Dorcas said her program has been offering technical skills to men and boys who have been rehabilitated and urged religious leaders to welcome them.
There are more than 600 who have been undergoing technical skills in Olkalou Nyandarua County after successful rehabilitation in various centers across the country.
The service was presided over by Rev. Moses Masamba Nthukah, the Dean of The Province and Diocesan Bishop and assisted by Rev. John Kimani Nthigah, Diocesan Clergy and Women Ministry Leadership.
