The Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (KUSCCO) chairman George Magutu has retained his board membership position at Nyeri headquartered Newfortis Sacco.
Magutu was reelected during the Sacco’s Board of dDirectors and Supervisory Committee members held on Saturday at Nyamachaki Primary School near Nyeri town.

The KUSCCO boss was elected alongside Sacco’s former chairman Daniel Matu Muturi and David Nduhiu Ngunjiri to be board members while Charles Maina Kariuki was elected to be in the Sacco’s Supervisory Committee.
The rotational elections, presided over by State Department of Cooperatives officials was witnessed by other board members led by Chairman John Githinji and Chief Executive Officer John Mathinji.

Magutu will be representing Mathira West region in the 13-member board.
The former chairman who was elected for the 9th time as a board member will be representing Kieni East while Ngunjiri will be Mukurwe-ini area’s representative.
The Sacco, which is ranked as one of the best in giving out divindeds to members across the country is set to hold its 47th Annual General Meeting this Saturday.
Last year, the Sacco gave out divinded worth more than Sh740 million.

Due to its impressive performance, its membership has continued to grow every year.
By December 2021, the Sacco which was formed in 1976 by 857 members had a,membership of 17,720 compared to 15,758 in 2020 and 14,890 in 2019.
