Muthamaki Thiong’o wa Gitau

Elders from across the country and those who subscribe to the Gikuyu Culture are now free to resume offering sacrifices, especially blood sacrifices.
Gikuyu Culture has the norm that any sacrifice should entail the slaughter of a goat or ram. The shedding of the blood of the sacrificial animal is deemed sacred.
During the circumcision of boys which was concluded recently, the offering of sacrifices had been withheld in strict observance of the Gikuyu cultural dictates.
Muthamaki Thiong’o wa Gitau is the topmost Gikuyu elder entrusted with overseeing a smooth transition of the young men from their juvenile stage to the adulthood.
The circumcision ritual saw a total of 7,000 boys’ transit into adulthood. The distribution of the initiates was as follows: Kiambu County led with 3,064, Nakuru 945, Nairobi 845, Nyandarua 720, Kajiado 285, Murang’a 102 and finally Coast region 139.
Muthamaki Thiong’o called upon the young men to adhere strictly to the Gikuyu Culture and shun any other diversionary rituals/ and or teachings.
