After the release of KCPE results, parents, family members, school teachers and the candidates are seen celebrating their children who did well in the exams. The joy can’t be hidden since they attained the marks they had wished for.
As parents celebrate their children’s victory they should also appreciate and recognize those who did not attain good marks. The kind of moral support the parents, families friends and the community at large will give those who didn’t do well in their exams, will determine if they will overcome regrets of losing.
The candidates should be taken to guidance and counseling experts to express themselves freely. They can also be advised to decide if they want to repeat and try to make a difference or proceed to the next level and make a difference too. Losing isn’t failing. People are abled differently and blessed in different ways.
It should be noted that also these children managed to work extra hard but unfortunately it didn’t add up. Parents should know that KCPE is not a life sentence. They should
give their sons and daughters another chance to prove their ability in other areas apart from academic.
It’s high time that all guardians should be alert. The candidates who didn’t do well in their exams may decide to do wrongly decided decisions like committing suicide, indulging themselves in drugs, theft.
As they be alert on their children they should not treat their children differently or according to their ability. All children whether clever or not clever are still their children. No discrimination should be portrayed in them.
