When I interact with kids especially those under five years I am always amazed by their honesty. When happy they openly express the gratitude if angry their reaction will tell. If they like you they will easily embrace you and request you to be visiting them oftenly. If they do not like you they will keep off whenever you are around. I do not take this as weakness I see it as a genuine living as it will help those they are dealing with to know how to manage their relationships.
Once these kids mature they learn many issues in life which makes them to become ingenuine by not expressing their inner feeling when happy or disgusted, when they know or fail to understand giving those they are dealing with hard time as the signals they display at times are fake that is why in most of job interviews or court cases there is a lot of work done to check background and verify whether what one is saying is true or not.
Formal settings are good as they apply some theory to establish the set ups so you can reference somewhere to know why the procedures are taking a certain model. You can use such set ups to learn how to deal with related situations.
However in informal setups there are the ideas that influence their existence and you should be willing to know them as you will be able to appreciate those who did the set up and perhaps imitate such models or advise them from an informed point of view on why they need to improve these establishments.
Do not be annoyed by the a tough acting police officer instead be friendly to him that he manages to keep the traffic flowing perhaps if he was lenient with everyone you could be spending long time in traffic jams as some motorists would be taking his kindness for weakness.
