Auditor General Visits Nyeri County Governor, Tours The New Buspark

Auditor General CPA Nancy Gathungu yesterday visited Nyeri County government’s bus park project which is yet to be used despite having been completed months ago.
The Auditor General and her team are said to have raised concern over the delay in making use of the multimillion project that was funded by the World Bank.
The county government team explained that plans are at an advanced stage to relocate some traders and public service vehicles plying various routes from Nyeri town, the county headquarters.
Before visiting the park which is situated about a kilometre from the town’s CBD, Ms Gathangu and her team met several senior county government officials.
She met with all the CECMs and Chief Officers, where they discussed accounting matters with the objective of ensuring the locals get value for the resources channeled through the county government.
She was accompanied by among others, CPA Isaac Ng’ang’a (Deputy Auditor General, Corporate Services), David Cherono, Director, Central Regional Office, and Daniel Ndung’u, Director, Audit, Nairobi.
