Note in ACTS 1: “ 4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME UPON YOU; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The good Lord Christ Jesus boldly declares in Luke 4: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Further, John 14: 15- 16 says: “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that HE MAY ABIDE WITH YOU FOREVER— 17 the Spirit of truth, WHOM the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for HE DWELLS WITH YOU AND WILL BE IN YOU. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
Recognizing Jesus as Christ, what He is, His works: you can deny them!( e.g Peter), but with the Holy Spirit, you CAN NOT, because you are empowered. Consider Acts 2:4 “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as THE SPIRIT ENABLED” 42’ They devoted themselves to the Apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer .” 43’ Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the Apostles. 44” believers were ONE” .In ACTS 9:17 “ And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.” 18 Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized.
Galatians 5:16 states: “So I say to you, WALK BY THE SPIRIT, and you will not fulfil the lust of the flesh,,..22’: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
OH LORD, GOD, GREAT THOU ART HOLY SPIRIT: YOU ARE WORTHY OF ALL ADOEATION, POWER AND MAJESTY, NOW AND FOREVER : AMEN
