Tumelo Cebani, a former drug abuser, has written a book titled “Cat in the house!” that details his journey of addiction and rehabilitation.
The book highlights the widespread use of drugs in society and the need for awareness and education on the dangers of drug abuse.
In an interview, Tumelo explained that the book’s title is derived from the fact that many households have drug abusers, but the parents are not aware. He believes that parents need to be vigilant and refrain from giving small children money without knowing how it will be used.
Tumelo’s anti-drug campaign aims to raise awareness among young people about the dangers of drug abuse. During a recent campaign at a primary school in Bontleng, standard seven pupils explained how kat is used and what it looks like. This highlights the need for increased vigilance in our communities to protect young people from the dangers of drug abuse.
