Clean and safe water is an essential commodity to many families who rely on its use like cooking and drinking.
In a bid to ensure Vihiga residents have access to clean and Safe water, Vihiga County Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo has commissioned Mwibona Water Project that will see locals benefit greatly from the water reservoir.
Mwibona Water Project is powered by solar panels a move that the county boss finds pride in it since it saves on electricity costs.
Speaking after its launch, Dr. Ottichilo said that they resorted to solar energy having encountered challenges of power outages before.
“We’ve had challenges in the past due to power outages and high electricity bills, the reason as to why in this project we invested largely in solar energy for continuous provision of Water to our people,” said the Governor.
Dr. Ottichilo also stated that his administration has strived to revive stalled projects in the county like Mwibona Water Project that stalled since its launch in 2015 by the former regime.
