Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui will defend his seat under Jubilee party ticket.
Kinyanjui was cleared yesterday and immediately said he was hopeful of retaining his seat.
Initially, Kinyanjui had plans of contesting under Ubuntu Peoples Forum (UPF) party which he founded last year but was prevailed upon to defend it using the party he was elected under in 2017.
Also cleared was his running mate Ms Joyce Jelagat Cheruiyot, from Salgaa, Rongai.
“We are seeking reelection to continue with our unmatched development agenda, for the benefit of all Nakuru residents.I take this opportunity to thank Ms Fransicar Kamuren, whom I had nominated as my running mate earlier but we could not continue the journey due to a legal hitch regarding party resignation timeline,” he said after he was cleared.
He continued, “Thank you the people of Nakuru for your support in the last 5 years. I am confident you will give us another 5 years to make our county greater,”.
