Chingiz Aitmatov’s work “Jamila” reflects the feelings of war women

Aziza Saparbaeva

Jamila – short story written by Chingiz Aitmatov in 1958.

The main characters in the story are Jamila and Doniyor.

The story describes the process of women performing various hard, back-front jobs instead of men during the war years. Also, through the image of Jamila, the writer was able to clearly express the fact that women are delicate beings who need love and attention.

In the image of Doniyor, the writer illuminates the image of a man who returned from the war injured, but whose heart is full and full of love, and who needs love at the same moment.

Rana in Utkir Hashimov’s “Between Two Doors”, unlike the unfaithful wives like Musharraf in Shuhrat’s “Golden Rust”, did not betray Jamila Sodiq, but simply obeyed the command of her heart.

Also, the relationship between Jamila and Doniyor is completely different from the relationship between Rana and Umar, the characters of the novel mentioned above, this story is a story of true and innocent love.

Sodiq was directly responsible for the ending of this story and Jamila’s behavior.

The fact that he mentions his wife in the last lines of his letters, and asks about her in an indifferent manner, made Jamila’s pain even worse.

Also at the center of the story is the narrator Said. He was a small, innocent boy who also loved Jamila.

My conclusion from the story is that I can neither justify nor condemn Jamila. She is also a woman, she also wants sweet words, love and attention.

I want you, my reading friends, to find out for yourself how the story ends…! It’s a small story, but it means a lot. I could only share what I understood.
